We skirt the Gutierrez and Mascardi lakes along Route 40. We turn off at the entrance to the road that goes to Tronador mountain. First we visit the Alerces Waterfall, a 20 meter high waterfall on the Manso River, near Lake Hess. The waterfall can be appreciated from a wide viewpoint, surrounded by tall Coihues and walls with ferns and mosses. There are specimens of Alerces, hence the name of the waterfall. We return and then we cross the Manso River towards Pampa Linda to see the Tronador moutain (3555 mts) and its glaciers. We visit the Black Glacier and the base of the hill.
